Samsung released Samsung Galaxy S6 on 10th April 2015, this was the best android smartphone in 2015. Now we have Samsung S8 Samsung 8 plus with better features but that doesn’t mean S6 wasn’t worth it its own charm. In fact Samsung S6 led to the framework of S7 and S8 Samsung mobiles. It was the most wanted android smartphone. Samsung wanted to create something totally original and stunning, and they succeeded in making a standout mobile that beat the plastic garbed Galaxy S4 and S5.
A number of upgrades were made including in its design, display, software and hardware, well you can say that Samsung started all over again. The design of S6 was beautifully collaborated, the first thing considered was designing a metal body of the device. Smooth Gorilla glass 4 was used for constructing the front and the rear of the mobile, Aluminium Alloy was used for the sides. This not only provided more protective enhancements it also gave a premium and a stylish look to the mobile. It has a flat plane and smooth rounded edges, its surprisingly lightweight and easy to handle.
The overall layout of the phone is pretty clean the volume buttons housed on the left hand side and power button on the right. The speakers lie on the front side at the base and the home key is slightly larger providing a more solid click. Larger size of the home key makes it more prone to accidental pressing of the key. The fingerprint scanner is present at the bottom of the front face. The camera at the rear side of the mobile is overly protruding which might not be too noticeable to most consumers, but it is another design flaw.
S6 has a 5.1 inch AMOLED display which showcases videos and pictures magnificently, its screen is even more vibrant than phones with LCD screens. The large 5.1 inch display contains a resolution of 1440 x 2560 MP, and pixel per inch resolution of 577 Mega pixels that means “a super sharp and clear display” lies right in your hands.
Samsung Galaxy S6 features a 5 mega pixel front camera and a 16 mega pixel rear camera operating on a f1.9 lens, both the cameras have HDR mode and allow in more light improving the picture quality. The layout of the camera app is much cleaner than it predecessors with the HDR mode, flash and timer all present on the top of the screen. The selections for the camera and video mode and the selections for the camera are present at the bottom of the screen. The amount of color saturation has been controlled to give a more natural look to the pictures and videos, if we compare a picture of a scene taken by S6 and compare it with that taken by an iPhone, you can clearly see that the shot taken by S6 resembles more to the actual scene. Hence in performance S6 has a better camera than the Apples iPhone, this is its killer feature. As far as audio system is concerned Samsung employed a midrange quality.
S6 offered upgraded software, it made a great deal of improvements in TouchWiz making it much easier and smoother to use. Galaxy S6 also operates on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Altogether the consistency of the animations and colors were modified at a great length as compared to S5 or S4 , it provides a much better usage experience. Different colors are employed for each other application modelling it more brighter and colorful.
The 2550 mAh non-removable battery was a big disappointment, its a downfall from S5. S5 operated on a 2800 mAh removable battery. However a plus point is that Samsung decided to furnish wireless charging, and its ability to charge swiftly is excellent. You can get about 4 hours of use after only 10 to 15 minutes of charging.
Over all Samsung Galaxy S6 is still an amazing android smartphone in aspects like display, resolution, and camera quality, but unfortunately its not perfect. It failed to meet certain demands like better audio and large battery capacity. Which are not ‘major’ drawbacks considering its brighter sides. Samsung continues to manufacture better and more flagship earning handsets, so we can expect more from its new releases.
