Motorola fans out there are in for a surprise, a much less pricier Moto Android Smartphone was rolled out in march 2017 ‘Moto G5 Plus’. Motorola has a reputation for launching interesting and attractive handsets with extended features each time, and this time Motorola’s  MOTO G5 PLUS has been manufactured under the subsidiary company LENOVO, as always aiming to renovate. Could this be the best Moto? So lets find out what Motorola has boxed up for us in G5 Plus.

The best thing about this handset is that it doesn’t even look like a budget device, its cuts and curves are more elegantly made show casing a confident design overall. The phone has a metal and plastic body a plastic back and metal all around, and a full glass front making it standout from its previous versions. However if you prefer a full metal or plastic body then you might not like the fact that you can tell the difference between the plastic and the metal. The display size is 5.2 inches, thank God for that because the 5.5 inch G4 was uncomfortably hard to handle, the bezels on the other hand are slightly bulky but they blend in with the shinny metal trim so their not that noticeable.

The 3.5 mm headphone jack and the micro USB port lie at the bottom edge of the device, a rounded fingerprint scanner is housed below the display. You can press your finger on it and lock and unlock your screen within minimum amount of time. The light sensors, earpiece and the front camera sit at the top of the display. The volume and power buttons are on the right edge and the SIM card tray lies at the top. At the back of the device you can see the rounded Moto logo, finished off with a camera module with lenses and a Led Flash. Moto G5 plus is distributed in only two colors grey and gold, more color variation would have boosted its charm, but overall for the price it comes the design is pretty good.

The 5.2 inch IPS LCD (1080p) display does not have much to offer, the better the display the more the handset is desired and this handset didn’t disappoint us in fact its fairly good. The colors are accurate with lots of details, and the IPS display is easily readable. Under the sunlight setting the phone to vibrant mode would be the best option since this will increase the saturation and contrast. Otherwise the display and colors seem washed off.

Moto G5 is stocked with the Android 7.0 nougat and Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor , some new features are the navigation gestures and the locked screen notifications, its also housed with Moto’s standard features. The phone might occasionally heat up during multitasking or gaming, asides that it doesn’t show any lag, apps and games are loaded quickly. So you can see the performance is balanced for day to day usage, if you simply surf the net, do light gaming, mailing or browsing social media apps then you wont face any problem. The 3000 mAh battery is enough for a full day usage and you might have some battery left till the next recharge. Turbo charging charges up the handset within 70 to 80 minutes, however one concern is that the battery is not removable like some other Motorola devices.

Moto G5 Plus has an excellent 12 megapixel rear camera not surprising since it uses the same camera module as the Samsung galaxy S7. With a f/1.7 aperture and auto focus you wont miss out on taking great snaps. The colors are highly accurate, the details are sharp and refined over all the picture quality is impressive. In low light the pictures do not loose any details due to the light sensor which captures maximum light and improves the image quality. The front 5 megapixel shooter itself is amazing for taking selfies and group photos.

There is nothing which Moto G5 Plus has missed out, and if you are looking to spend on a new smartphone then this is the phone for you.
